On the other hand, many students learn English by memorizing individual words, and when they speak, they speak wo r d by wo r d, o ne at a time. Because they learned English mostly from phrases, their pronunciation is clear and easy to understand. They speak the language in phrases, in short chunks of English. Native speakers naturally pause between phrases. The rhythm ofĞnglish is created by the natural pattern of pauses. Pronunciation of individual sounds such as v, b, r, and l, their biggest problem is unnatural rhythm. Rhythm and intonation are the “music” of English. One of the biggest problems I see withĞnglish learners is they speak with strange rhythm and intonation. Learning phrases will also help your pronunciation. But because you didn’t learn this with other words, sometimes you might say “he hate ice cream.” You’ll forget the “s” because you never learned it correctly in a sentence, in a phrase.Ěnd in a real conversation there is no time to think about verb conjugations.
